Day Trips
Sandham Memorial Chapel & Newbury

We take a guided tour of the red-brick chapel at Sandham which was built in the 1920s for the artist Stanley Spencer to fill with murals inspired by his experiences in the First World War. The Chapel is set amidst lawns and orchards with views across Watership Down. We then head to nearby Newbury, where you will have time at leisure to explore this historic market town and perhaps enjoy a walk along the tow path of the Kennet & Avon Canal.
