Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival

Experience the UK’s oldest carnival and one of the largest illuminated carnival processions in Europe. The event features nearly 100 massive, illuminated carnival carts (floats) decorated with tens of thousands of lightbulbs, accompanied by marching bands, dancers, and masqueraders. Originating from the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, the carnival historically celebrates the failure of Guy Fawkes in a tradition of light, fire and revelry.
