SUN  We set off this morning, heading north to our lovely overnight hotel near Blackburn.

MON  After this morning’s breakfast we continue our journey northwards, arriving with time to settle in to our hotel before our evening meal.

TUE  Today we travel to the famous fishing town of Oban and have free time to explore and have lunch. Afterwards, we will soak up the stunning scenery with a beautiful scenic drive south via Lochgilphead and then follow the west shores of Loch Fyne to Inveraray. Our final highlight is driving over the famous ‘Rest and be Thankful’ viewpoint, before hugging the northern banks of Loch Lomond back to our hotel in Killin.

WED  We travel south via Loch Earn to Crieff today and visit the Glenturret Distillery for a tour and tasting. Located in the picturesque Hosh Crieff, enjoy a warm welcome and find out more about the distillery heritage before tasting a wee dram of Glenturret’s wonderful single malt whisky. This afternoon, we continue our circular route north on the Perthshire tourist route to the pretty town of Aberfeldy for free time before heading to the Scottish Crannog Centre. Here we travel back in time to the Iron Age when people lived in loch-dwellings called Crannogs on Loch Tay.  A replica based on excavations is the showpiece of this fascinating museum as well as ancient artefacts and an Iron Age Village to explore. Afterwards, we drive west along the banks of the scenic Loch Tay to return to our hotel.

THU  Today we take the incredibly scenic drive towards Fort William. The rugged scenery of this area was made famous by the James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’ which was filmed nearby. We take a pause at the Glencoe Visitor Centre to learn more about the area then continue to Fort William, where we explore the town at leisure. Afterwards we join a cruise on Loch Linnhe to see the Black Rock, affectionately known as ‘Seal Island’. This rocky outcrop is our destination to spot both the Common and Atlantic Grey seals which make it their home. 

FRI  It’s time to bid farewell to Scotland today as we head south, stopping en route for coffee and lunch before our final night of the holiday.

SAT  We continue our journey home today, arriving back in the early evening.
