MON  We head off to the west country today, with stops en route, before arriving at our seaside hotel with its beautiful views of Pendennis Castle in time for this evening’s meal.

TUE  Today we explore one of Henry VIII’s finest coastal fortresses, Pendennis Castle, which has defended Cornwall against foreign invasion since Tudor times. Situated on a headland with breathtaking views out to sea, explore the picturesque castle, discover how the castle has evolved, and experience life as a soldier guarding the shores. Explore the fascinating new exhibition which examines the role of the castle as part of Fortress Falmouth during the First World War, and enjoy stunning views across to St Mawes and Falmouth Bay – look out for sea-faring vessels of many kinds and a huge range of wildlife, birds and coastal creatures.

WED  This morning we head to the attractive town of Marazion, where we enjoy a photo stop to capture the tidal island of St Michael’s Mount, which lies half a mile offshore. We then continue our travels to the famous Land’s End, known as the start or finishing point of journeys to or from John o’ Groats in Scotland. We spend some time soaking in the natural beauty and beautiful views here before travelling along the scenic West Cornwall Coast Road to the picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town of St Ives, where we have time at leisure to explore the numerous galleries and the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden. 

THU  Today we make our way to Trebah Garden with free time to explore this sub-tropical garden paradise. Set against a stunning coastal backdrop, at the bottom of the garden there is also a secluded private beach on the Helford River to admire. We then head back to Falmouth with time at leisure to explore this lovely coastal town. Falmouth is renowned for its maritime heritage, picturesque harbour and beautiful sandy beaches. You can also enjoy the facilities at the hotel this afternoon before we have our final evening meal ahead of tomorrow’s departure.

FRI  We leave our lovely hotel after this morning’s breakfast and make our way back home, arriving back in the early evening.
