MON We travel to Cornwall this morning through Dorset and Devon and over Bodmin Moor to Fistral Beach, Newquay – our home for the next four nights – with leisurely refreshment stops on the way. Enjoy a pre-dinner glass of cider this evening before settling down for our evening meal.
TUE We set off this morning for a scenic drive along the North Atlantic coast, offering a breathtaking journey through rugged cliffs, golden beaches, and charming seaside towns and villages such as Perranporth, a lively coastal town known for its vast sandy beach and
sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. As you head west, the coastal road leads to St Agnes, a picturesque village nestled in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Continuing along the coast, the drive reaches Portreath, a quieter harbour village with a rich maritime past. We then reach Truro, Cornwall’s only city, with its many independent shops and the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary right in the heart of the city. We return to our hotel to enjoy our evening meal and live entertainment tonight.
WED After this morning’s breakfast we head off to the Eden Project, via the clay pits and hills surrounding St Austell. Visiting the Eden Project is like stepping into a different world, with its iconic biomes housing lush rainforests and Mediterranean landscapes. It’s both an educational and sensory experience, showcasing the relationship between people and plants in a stunning, immersive setting. From exploring exotic ecosystems to enjoying outdoor gardens and art installations, the Eden Project offers something for everyone.
THU We visit Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm this morning for a guided tour to find out about traditional cyder making through the ages, have a guided talk in Kay’s Cyderhouse and see the production halls. We head back to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure, and a
delicious cream tea. This evening, we enjoy a five-course taster menu with some of the best seafood Cornwall has to offer with a glass of Camel Valley sparkling wine. There is also live entertainment to enjoy after this evening’s meal.
FRI We head homeward today, stopping on the way at the glorious destination of Buckfast Abbey on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, before arriving home in the late afternoon.
