SAT We begin our journey north this morning, stopping at the National Memorial Arboretum en route. Discover the serene beauty and powerful stories of remembrance at this peaceful 150-acre landscaped site in Staffordshire, where over 400 memorials honour the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces and civilian heroes. We then continue our journey to our overnight hotel in Haydock, where we arrive in time for this evening’s meal.
SUN After breakfast this morning we continue our journey into Scotland, calling at the world-famous village of Gretna Green, where countless couples have eloped to marry since 1754. We then continue our journey to Dumfries, with time to settle in before dinner.
MON We head off this morning to explore the Rhins of Galloway, a peninsula with dramatic coastal scenery. We visit Logan Botanic Garden – Scotland’s most exotic garden. Discover botanical treasures from around the world close to Scotland’s most southerly point before calling in to the harbour village of Portpatrick to admire the stunning scenery. We return to Dumfries through the Galloway Forest Park and along The Queen’s Way.
 TUE Today we take a tour of Dumfries House at Cumnock, one of Britain’s best kept heritage secrets. Discover the elegance of this 18th-century Scottish estate renowned for its stunning architecture. Designed in the 1950s by the Adam Brothers and saved for the
nation in 2007 by HRH Prince Charles, it has sumptuous interiors and a unique collection of Thomas Chippendale furniture. Set amid beautifully landscaped gardens, the estate offers beautifully scenic walks, and a glimpse into royal heritage. We then head back with time to spend at leisure in Dumfries. 
WED This morning we head out past Sweetheart Abbey and along the Solway coast to the picturesque harbour town of Kirkcudbright with its colourful blend of Medieval, Georgian and Victorian buildings and home to some lovely artists’ galleries and studios, We then head north and travel round the shores of Loch Ken before returning to Dumfries.
THU We head off this morning for our journey homeward with stops on the way, arriving back in the early evening.
