FRI After an early start this morning, we board the ferry from Dover to Calais, and then set off for our contemporary hotel in the Vélizy district on the outskirts of Paris, arriving with time to settle in before our evening meal.

SAT After breakfast this morning we set off to the magnificent Palace of Versailles. Step into the grandeur of French history at the breathtaking Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site just outside Paris. Once the royal residence of Louis XIV, this opulent palace dazzles visitors with its stunning Hall of Mirrors, lavish gardens, and exquisite architecture. Wander through rooms adorned with gilded décor, marvel at intricate fountains in the vast gardens, and experience the splendour of French royalty brought to life. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply seeking a taste of elegance, Versailles offers an unforgettable journey into the heart of France’s regal past, and your guided tour of the Palace will ensure that you don’t miss a thing.

SUN Today we have a full day for you to discover the magic of Paris, the City of Light, where timeless charm meets world-renowned culture. At its heart stands the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that has inspired awe for
centuries. During your visit, you will have a guided tour of the cathedral, where a massive restoration effort began shortly after the devastating fire in April 2019, aiming to rebuild the cathedral to its former glory using traditional materials and techniques. Following your visit, you then have time to explore Paris at your leisure. Stroll along the banks of the Seine, admire the cathedral’s soaring spires and intricate stained glass, and soak in the atmosphere of one of the most iconic landmarks in Europe. MON This morning, after breakfast at the hotel we head back to Calais where we will board our ferry to return back to Dover. We then set off homewards, arriving back in the early evening.
