TUE Jersey enjoys a mild climate where the surrounding Atlantic Ocean dominates the landscape with majestic cliffs, sandy beaches and rocky coves. Experience Jersey’s beautiful coastline on a full day ‘Round The Island’ coastal tour, with excellent live and informative commentary from your experienced driver – sit back and enjoy the view from the comfort of your seat and appreciate Jersey’s stunning and diverse coastline. There will be opportunities to stop along the way for photo opportunities and refreshments.
WED A holiday in Jersey is not complete without a visit to Jersey War Tunnels to learn about and experience one of the most difficult periods in the Island’s history, and we head there today. The story of the German Occupation of Jersey is as compelling as it is strange to think that this small area of Britain was occupied by the Nazis and forced to fly the Swastika for five dark years. The Jersey War Tunnels are no ordinary museum, they are an unforgettable experience. Dug deep into the hillside within St Peter’s Valley, the Tunnels were originally intended to be a barracks and ammunition store for the occupying forces. Today they tell the story of the Occupation, looking at how all sides coped under such extreme conditions and examining the daily dilemmas that were faced by island residents and the authorities, whether Jersey, British or German.
THU Today you are free to explore this fantastic island at your leisure. The ‘Hop On Hop Off’ bus system can be used for independent travel around the island to visit attractions – maybe visit the world famous Durrell Wildlife Park, visit the imposing fortress of Mont Orgueil, head to one of the spectacular beaches or take a stroll down into St Helier – just a pleasant 15 minute walk from the hotel. The choice is yours!
FRI It’s time to bid farewell to Jersey today, as we head back over on our ferry crossing back to Poole, where your comfortable coach will be waiting to take you home.
