SAT After an early start this morning we make our way to Dover for our ferry crossing to Calais, and then on to our comfortable overnight hotel in Reims.
SUN We continue our journey through France today to the spa town of Saint-Gervais-les Bains for a five night stay, arriving in time for our evening meal.
MON Today we visit the chic resort of Chamonix to explore its central boutiques and cafés. Perhaps take a journey on the Aguille du Midi cable car for the best views of Mont Blanc or the Montenvers rack and pinion railway to view the imposing Mer de Glace glacier.
TUE A highlight today is a visit to Lake Annecy, known as the ‘Venice of the Alps’. This beautiful lakeside town features charming canals and narrow streets to explore, along with the bustling market which lines the streets on Tuesdays. On arrival we enjoy a cruise on the lake, discovering the magnificent landscapes between the lake and the mountains.
WED We travel to Lake Geneva today and the lakeside village of Yvoire, with its beautiful medieval houses. During our visit, we enjoy a circular cruise on Lake Geneva from Yvoire’s pretty port, and we then continue to the lakeside spa town of Evian-les-Bains, home of the water of the same name, where you can admire the stunning scenery and stroll the shores of the lake.
THU Enjoy a day at leisure today. Relax in the mountain air with views of the Dome de Miage and Mont Joly mountains, or wander into the nearby town centre for some local shopping at the weekly market. Alternatively take the Mont Blanc Tramway, just across the road from your hotel to ascend the mountain. You may also want to take the Ascenseur des Thermes lift, situated just below the hotel to the wonderful Mont Blanc Thermal Spa where you can spend a few hours enjoying the thermal waters and treatments available.
FRI We begin our homeward journey today, stopping overnight again in Reims.
SAT We head back to Calais today for our ferry crossing, arriving home in the evening.
