DAY I Today we set off to our overnight hotel in Preston, with stops en route.
DAY 2 We continue our journey northwards today, visiting the Kelpies, Scotland’s famous equine sculptures, on our way to our hotel in Pitlochry.
DAY 3 We have a day at leisure in Pitlochry today, one of Scotland’s most beautiful and vibrant places to visit.Then this evening we head off to the highlight of our tour – the Enchanted Forest. Set your imagination alight with dazzling visuals and innovative design, all choreographed against an original music score, while you explore the stunning autumn woodland setting of Faskally Wood and experience a sound and light show experience that is simply magical.
DAY 4 The vibrant city of Dundee, with its new waterfront development and V&A Museum, is our first stop today. Following time at leisure, we then venture on to Glamis Castle for a visit and guided tour of the splendid childhood home of Her Majesty the Queen Mother.
DAY 5 This morning, venture into the Cairngorm National Park for a journey on the newly reopened Funicular Railway to the top of the Cairn Gorm.Take in some of the most spectacular views in Scotland, looking across the famous mountainous landscape which epitomises this beautiful country.
DAY 6 Today we explore Blair Castle, which has been the home of the Atholl family for over seven centuries, and ancestral home of Clan Murray.The castle has had a diverse history, witnessing both turbulent and peaceful times, and has been enlarged and adapted over 750 years to suit the needs of the family and style of the day.The castle grounds feature a magnificent nine acre walled garden, with Chinese bridge, gothic folly and a sculptures trail.
DAY 7 We bid farewell to Scotland today as we head back to Preston for an overnight stay. On the way, we head to the famous Gretna Green, just inside the Scottish border, and world-renowned for being the home of runaway weddings since 1754.
DAY 8 We complete our homeward journey today, with stops en route.
