MON We set off this morning and head to the city of Oxford, famous for its university colleges and architecture. Take time to explore some of the famous sights, relax in one of the many restaurants, or maybe pick up some early Christmas gifts at the Alpine chalets of the Christmas market. We then complete our journey to our fantastic hotel where you will have time to familiarise yourselves with your new surroundings before dinner and then sample the live entertainment across the two entertainment venues on site.
TUE This morning we take an excursion to the centre of the Cotswolds to Moreton-in Marsh in the Evenlode Valley. Every Tuesday this delightful market town hosts one of the largest open-air street markets in the country with over 300 stalls, and the High Street offers many art and antique galleries, as well as a wonderful selection of cosy cafés and pubs. We return to our hotel with the afternoon free to explore the many fantastic facilities such as the 18 hole championship golf course and driving range. Perhaps try a yoga class, a chef hosted cookery session or relax and enjoy afternoon tea before dinner and more top-class live entertainment this evening.
WED This morning we venture out to visit the beautiful market town of Stratford-upon Avon, famous as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. This market town contains not only many buildings that survive today and would have been familiar to Shakespeare, but also a wide range of attractions and activities. Maybe visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and learn about his early family life, or learn about his early school days at Shakespeare’s Schoolroom and Guildhall. You might prefer a walk along the beautiful River Avon, a browse around the shops, cafés or restaurants before returning to our lovely hotel.
THU After a leisurely breakfast we travel through the heart of the Cotswolds to Broadway, with time to explore this charming town, with antique, gift and souvenir shops and friendly cafés for lunch. We return to our hotel with the remainder of the day free to spend as you please. As well as the superb indoor leisure facilities, you may like to stroll around the beautiful gardens or even try archery or laser clay pigeon shooting.
FRI We head for home this morning, stopping en route with time for a leisurely lunch.
