MON We set off towards Norwich, stopping on the way at Anglesey Abbey, a Jacobean-style house with gardens and a watermill in the lovely Cambridgeshire countryside. The house will be beautifully decorated for the Christmas season, with festive displays highlighting Lord Fairhaven’s vast and significant collection. Step inside to discover a treasure-trove of history and admire the themed Christmas decorations in each room. You may also wish to have some lunch in Redwoods Restaurant, or purchase some last-minute gifts in the on-site shop. We then complete our journey to our hotel with time to settle in before dinner.
TUE After a morning at leisure in the hotel, we head off to the afternoon performance of the Christmas Spectacular. On arrival at Thursford, there will be time to browse for festive gifts before taking your seat for an extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety. This celebration of the festive season is set in the magical surroundings of mechanical organs and fairground carousels, with a cast of 120 professional singers, dancers and musicians – most of whom are straight out of the West End. The three hour performance features choirs, dancers, ballet, jive, jazz, carols, juggling, pipers, comedians, singalongs, organists and musicians It’s a fast moving celebration of the festive season featuring an eclectic mix of both seasonal and year-round favourites, with famous and much loved chart toppers being performed alongside traditional carols. We then return to our hotel in time for our evening meal.
WED We leave our hotel and begin our homeward journey after breakfast, stopping en route in Windsor for a short visit, and time to have lunch and browse the shops whilst enjoying views of the famous Castle. We then continue our homeward journey, arriving back home in the early evening.
