SAT We head off this morning for Worcester and our lovely hotel located in the heart of Worcester’s historic city centre. The hotel blends quintessential English charm with modern comfort and convenience, and is within easy reach of the many tourist attractions in the city, as well as the wealth of independent shops and the lovely River Severn. En route we call in to the historic city of Oxford, where you might wish to hone your detective skills by following in the footsteps of Inspector Morse ahead of tomorrow’s murder mystery evening. There is plenty to see and do in this stunning city – admire the architecture, visit the famous libraries and museums, or head to the Carfax Tower for spectacular views. We then continue on to our hotel with time to settle in before this evening’s dinner.

SUN Today we have time to spend at leisure, enjoying all that Worcester has to offer. Nestled in the heart of England, Worcester offers a rich blend of history, culture, and scenic beauty, making it a must-visit destination. Take a stroll along the picturesque River Severn or explore the stunning Worcester Cathedral, a masterpiece of English Gothic architecture that has stood for over a thousand years. History enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to The Commandery, a fascinating Civil War museum housed in a historic building dating back to the 11th century. For a unique local experience, don’t miss the Tudor House Museum or the beautiful Greyfriars House and Garden, which offer a glimpse into life in Worcester centuries ago. Worcester also caters to modern tastes with its thriving food scene, boutique shopping, and vibrant arts culture. Browse independent shops and cafés along Friar Street or sample regional delicacies at the Victorian-style Worcester Market. This evening, we will be entertained with ‘whodunit’ style fun performed by live actors including quizzes, competitions, prizes and a certificate of achievement for the winner. Relax and enjoy the upper class hospitality of His Lordship in the classic Edwardian themed Murder Mystery. All the Household staff are on hand to serve you faithfully as you settle down to your meal…but a shot rings out…a body is discovered and (you guessed it)…the inspector is called! Follow the clues to solve the crime or just enjoy the laughs!

MON We begin our journey home after breakfast this morning, calling at the charming market town of Marlborough on the way. Here you will have time to explore and get refreshments before we continue back to the local area, arriving in the late afternoon.
