DAY 3 Today we have a full day guided excursion through the Yorkshire Dales National Park with a tour guide, to the pleasant market town of Appleby. Set in the quiet and peaceful vale of Eden, this attractive town offers gorgeous scenery and a great deal of charm. We then board the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway for the journey south to Settle. This railway line crosses the beautiful limestone uplands for more wonderful dales scenery. After arriving in Settle, we rejoin the coach and return to the hotel.
DAY 4 You have time to explore two ancient Yorkshire locations today. We start our day in the splendid city of York, enjoying the history and culture of this walled riverside city which was founded by the Romans. You may wish to visit the National Railway Museum, take a sightseeing cruise along the river, discover the magnificent York Minster or browse in Shambles Market during your visit – the choice is yours. We then head back to Harrogate, a Victorian spa town with a unique character and charm, exquisite gardens, beautiful parks, handsome tree-lined boulevards and a chance to lose yourself in the vibrant charm and elegance of this North Yorkshire destination. With its famous tea room at Betty’s, as well as amazing high end shops and beautiful parkland, you can enjoy some time at leisure to explore this lovely area.
